Business Summary
The Hero Group has six well-known brands in its portfolio: Hero Supermarket (premium quality supermarket), Guardian Health and Beauty (pharmacy), Starmart (convenience store), Giant Ekstra (hypermarket), Giant Ekspres (hypermarket), and IKEA (home furnishing).
Per start of 2017, the Hero Group owns 448 stores consisting of 55 Giant Ekstra hypermarkets, 114 Giant Ekspres, 33 Hero Supermarkets, 245 Guardian Health & Beauty, and 1 IKEA store.
In 2012, Hero Supermarket was granted a franchise agreement with IKEA, the world’s largest home furnishing retailer. The company opened its first IKEA store in Indonesia (Tangerang) in October 2014.
